StatJacket

Privacy

StatJacket is a personal season tracker for youth and amateur players (rec, Optimist, Pop Warner, YMCA, travel, club, AAU, middle school and high school). Parents: it is safe for young players because there are no accounts and no ads, and nothing personal leaves the phone. There are no accounts. This page says exactly what the app keeps and what it sends.

What stays on your phone

Your first name, jersey number, position, Instagram handle, team name, team color, team logo, schedule, game stats and workouts are saved in your phone's browser storage. They are never uploaded. The only way they leave your phone is if you choose to: a backup file, or the share text you send yourself or a friend (the share text never includes a logo or your Instagram handle).

If you delete the app, clear your browser data, or lose your phone, that data is gone unless you saved a backup. Use Settings, then Save backup.

What the app sends

The iPhone and Android apps from the App Store and Google Play send nothing: no usage counts, no analytics, no data of any kind leaves your phone. The website version (statjacket.app, used in a browser or added to the Home Screen) sends the anonymous counts described here.

On the website, a few times, the app sends a small anonymous count to this site, so we can see how many people use it. Each count contains only:

It does not contain your name, number, Instagram handle, logo, stats, schedule, a device or advertising ID, a cookie, or a user ID. The server does not store your IP address or the time of day. Counts are not tied to a person and cannot be traced back to one.

Demo mode (?demo=1), phones opened with ?nocount=1, and the store apps send nothing.

What we do not do

Links out

If you add an Instagram handle, the app shows a link to your Instagram profile. Nothing is sent to Instagram unless you tap it.

Young athletes

Many players are minors. That is why the app collects no personal information at all. Parents can look at everything the app holds by opening Settings on the phone, and remove it with Settings, then Erase everything.

Changes

If this ever changes, this page will change first.
